Abstract:
Wireless power transfer systems based on inductive coupling consist of an inductive link with resonant capacitors, a coil driver, a rectifier and a voltage regulator. We will discuss the necessity and added value of the driver and receiver electronics, based on some theoretical considerations. Furthermore, different commercially available components for a wireless power system will be treated in detail and the current standards for wireless power systems (Qi, A4WP) will be considered. Finally, the design process will be illustrated with a general application.
